Open Water Scuba Diver
Cost: $450This class consist of 4 class/pool sessions, held on Sundays. Each session runs for 2 hours of classroom and 2 hours of pool. Four open water dives (two dives per day) are then scheduled to review the skills learned in the pool and complete training.
Prerequisites: None
Age Limits: Minimum age is 10 years old.
Equipment Needed:
Prior to class start, you will need to purchase a mask, snorkel, boots and fins. You can be fitted for your equipment in our shop, and our staff will be happy to assist you. New Students receive 10% discount of scuba gear in our store.
On your first day of class, you will also be fitted for a wet suit, BCD, regulator and all additional equipment that you be able to use free of charge for the classes. You will not need to purchase this equipment for the pool or open water training dives.
Textbook Needed:
You will be given a textbook (PADI Open Water Diver Manual), dive log book, and Recreational Dive Planner.
Class Structure:
Most classes will begin with a lesson and quiz based on the reading from the text. After the quiz, you’ll head to the indoor pool to practice the techniques you learned. Then we go to the open water for final training and reviewing of skills.
Skill Requirements:
You must bring to Class:You must complete the following:
- 4 quizzes and a final exam with a 75% or better
- 10 minute tread in the pool
- a 200 yard swim or a 300 yard mask/fin/snorkel swim in the pool
- 4 open water dive
Please be sure to bring a notebook, pen/pencil, bathing suit and towel to all classes.
